Background
Rural Initiative for Community Empowerment – West Nile (RICE-WN) is a registered Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) in Uganda with headquarters found in Arua City, located on Plot 3B along Mvara-Oluko Road and with branch offices in Arua, Moyo and Nwoya districts. RICE-WN continues to make a profound and progressive contribution towards the development of communities in Uganda in the areas of Environment and Natural Resources, Sustainable Agriculture, Skills Development, Community Health and Integrated Humanitarian Response. RICE-WN with funding from STROMME foundation. The programmes include BONGA, ECCE, T-VET, and CMSG.
Main Project Objectives
- To improve enrolment, retention, and completion among girls and boys in primary schools.
- To socially empower adolescents through life skills and awareness sessions.
- To improve the economic wellbeing of the adolescents through vocational skills training.
- To reduce sexual gender-based violence in the target communities through awareness creation and advocacy against teenage pregnancy, child marriage and harmful socio-cultural norms.
